Invitation/New Master Date/Best of the Week/Trouble with the Curve

Good Saturday Everyone!

INVITATION

To the Second "Guide to the Ride, Flow of the Show" at 5PM on Friday, Aug. 31 at The River Club (550 Depot) in Telluride.  We'll talk about the festival and film and have a refreshment or two!

NEW MASTER DATE

Late news from yesterday is that The Weinstein Company has moved the limited release date of Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" to Sept. 14th. That essentially means that if it is going to play ANY festival that Telluride is now probably the most likely...

I have linked multiple posts:

A note here: Venice organizers have said that they will be adding one more title to their competition slate any day now.   Most observers think it is likely to be Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master".

MORE ON THE MASTER TRAILER

Obsessive much?  I plead guilty...but I'm clearly not alone.Eric Kohn at IndieWire breaks down the recently released full trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" by focusing on 5 key images.  Obsess with me here:

TROUBLE  WITH THE CURVE

Nowhere on the lists of films announced this week for either Toronto and Venice will you find "Trouble wit the Curve" the baseball movie starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake and directed by    Robert Lorenz.  In all likelihood if it plays a festival that would most likely be New York...but you never know.  Rope of Silicon has first images of the film:
"Curve's" IMDb entry: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2083383/

My next post will be from California! More later...
