LATE BREAKING: Toronto International Film Fest Announces and What That Means for Telluride

LATE BREAKING; TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FEST ANNOUNCES AND WHAT THAT MEANS FOR TELLURIDE...

The Toronto International Film Fest has announced a number of the films that will be screened as either Galas or Special Presentations as of this morning.  By paying attention to the premiere designations for those films we can usually get a good idea of some of the films that are likely to play at Telluride.  Keys are the terms" Canadian Premiere" or "International Premiere" for films that could play Telluride although those designations do not automatically mean that a film will make the Telluride lineup.

A "World Premiere" or "North American Premiere" for a film designation means no Telluride play.

Here's what I have gleaned from this morning's press release (no live announcement this morning out of respect for the recent shooting in Toronto):

Biggest shock: Beale Street World Premiering at Toronto.  Next biggest is Widows doing the same thing.
