***Telluride films earned 10 Golden Globe nominations this morning..."Argo" had 5 (Best Pic: Drama, Director, Screenplay, Supporting Actor and Score) second only to "Lincoln". I'm still saying "Lincoln" wins the Oscar for Best Picture. "Rust and Bone" had 2: (Actress/Drama and Best Foreign Language). The other 3 TFF #39 noms were: Bill Murray for Actor/Musical or Comedy for "Hyde Park on Hudson", and both "Amour" and "A Royal Affair" for Best Foreign Language Film.
***"Django" probably actually gets an Oscar nudge from this morning's announcement. "Life of Pi", which has kind of fallen off the Best Picture/Director radar also probably got a shot in the arm.
***No BP nom for "The Master"...hmmm...
***Not hurt by this morning: "Les Miz", "Silver Linings" and "Zero Dark Thirty"
***A probable boost for Richard Gere's chances at a Best Actor Oscar nomination. Gere has been on the periphery of the Oscar convo for most of the season.
***Super glad to see the nomination for Jack Black as Best Actor MusicalComedy for "Bernie".
***"Salmon Fishing in the Yemen"...I liked it...apparently the HFPA did too.
***Does this morning's announcement and the SAG nomination for Nicole Kidman actually mean she's in the conversation for an Oscar nomination for "The Paperboy"?
The Golden Globes will be announced on Jan. 13th
