The Playlist reports today that "Brighton Rock" will "world" premiere at Toronto's festival. That doesn't automatically take it out of play as far as Telluride is concerned.
A cursory examination of the Toronto film list from last year reveals that "Life During Wartime," "Up in the Air," and the french film "Farewell" were "world" premieres and yet appeared at Telluride before or simultaneously.
Ultimately, today's announcement probably means that this adaptation of the Graham Greene classic is a bit less likely to be at TFF# 37...it doesn't preclude it's possibility entirely.
