MARK JOHNSON'S GOOD AS GOLD AND TFF #49

Mark Johnson of Gold as Gold ahs been a good friend to MTFB over the years but, unfortunately had to miss TFF #49 this past Labor Day due to health concerns.  It's alos taken him a bit to get his prediction site-Good as Gold (housed at Awards Daily) up and running for the new Oscar season.  But Mark has posted his first stab at picking 2023 Oscar nominees and here is where he places TFF #49 films in the 11 categories he has focused on (the Big Eight plus Documentary, Animated Feature and International Feature):

Women Talking (6): Best Picture, Direction, Supporting Actress (Buckley), Supporting Actress (Foy), Supporting Actor (Whishaw), Adapted Screenplay.

TAR (3): Best Picture, Actress (Blanchett), Original Screenplay

Good Night Oppy, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed and Sr. for best Documentary.

Close for best International Feature

and from TFF #48: Marcel the Shell with Shoes On for Best Animated Feature.
