Good Morning!
CANNES REVIEWS
The 65th Cannes Film Festival rolls on in its own way as a try out for Telluride #39 films. I have tagged 6 competition films that seem like they'll certainly get a look from the TFF crew: "Rust and Bone", "Reality", "Cosmopolis", "Amour", "Beyond the Hills" and "On the Road". That isn't to say that other Cannes offerings in the competition category and Un Certain Regard category aren't also possibilities. Further, these six films aren't locked into Telluride either. Consequently, I am happy to link blog followers to reviews as they are coming out of Cannes with regards to these 6 films as well as others that seem to have some Telluride potential. Therefore...

AND THE COMBINED RESPONSE
Again this year Ioncinema is posting a critical consensus of the festival. Posted here is after 5 days:
http://www.ioncinema.com/news/cannes-critics-panel-day-5-michael-hanekes-love
Halfway through the Festival and "Amur" leads the pack (substantailly).
1) Amour
2) Beyond the Hills
3) Rust and Bone
4) Moonrise Kingdom
5) The Hunt
Averages and positions can change as not all of the critics have weighed in as yet and, of course, there is still half the festival to go. That being said, the top three listed above all look good for Telluride.

HYDE PARK ON HUDSON
Not at Cannes, but definitely on my Telluride radar is Roger Michell's "Hyde Park on Hudson" featuring Bill Murray as FDR and Laura Linney as his neighbor (and more). This week saw the release of the first trailer for the film. Here are multiple links from a variety of sources:
