Ten Bets #7/More Master Reactions/Cloud Atlas Views/Central Park Five

Good Monday from Los Angeles...headed to San Francisco today!

TEN BETS #7

My weekly look at what I think are the most likely films to play as a part of the Telluride Film Festival:

Last week's "Ten Bets":

1) Amour
2) Rust and Bone
3) Midnight's Children
4) On the Road
5) Beyond the Hills
6) The Central Park Five
7) Bromberg's Chaplin
8) Hyde Park on Hudson
9) The Reluctant Fundamentalist
10) Hannah Arendt

This week's "Ten Bets"

1) Amour
2) Rust and Bone
3) Midnight's Children
4) The Central Park Five
5) Bromberg's Chaplin
6) Hyde Park on Hudson
7) No
8) On the Road
9) The Reluctant Fundamentalist
10) Beyond the Hills

"Hannah Arendt" is still very possible as is "Something in the Air".

MORE MASTER REACTIONS

By now many of you readers know that Paul Thomas Anderson "sneaked" a screening of "The Master" Saturday night here in Los Angeles.  Reactions/comments and pseudo-reviews continued to pop up all weekend.  I have included some more of that kind of thing here:

Thompson on Hollywood: http://blogs.indiewire.com/thompsononhollywood/early-review-paul-thomas-andersons-the-master-is-visually-dazzling-enigmatic-certain-to-polarize-gorgeous-in-70mm

There does continue to be some undercurrent that "The Master" could still be a Telluride choice.  Jeffrey Wells, Kris Tapley have continued to say "Maybe".  A couple of my friends who have been frequent Telluride attendees have pointed out that Telluride can and has handled 70mm films.  Another friend from inside the industry (and who I think has a good ear for this) says he's pretty confident we'll see it in Colorado.

So, As I have been saying, I think there's still a chance "The Master" plays...

CLOUD ATLAS VIEWS

CENTRAL PARK FIVE

Ken Burns and crew have a trailer cut for the Toronto International Film Festival.  As I am calling the documentary the #4 bet this week among the "Ten Bets" I have included that trailer:
